Richard "Rick" Gobbell is one of the nation's most experienced commercial motor vehicle safety compliance consultants. With over 36 years in CMV enforcement and compliance, Rick brings a depth of knowledge that can only come from decades of hands-on work at both the state and federal levels.
Rick began his career as a Commercial Motor Vehicle Inspector for the Tennessee Public Service Commission before advancing to serve as an Interstate Commerce Commission District Supervisor. He then joined the U.S. Department of Transportation, where he served 32 years with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration before retiring.
Throughout his career, Rick conducted approximately 10,000 roadside truck inspections, performed over 1,000 Safety Compliance Reviews and Hazardous Materials investigations, and investigated hundreds of commercial vehicle crashes. He is retained nationwide as an expert witness in transportation safety cases.
